By Provincial Order under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, the Township of Douro-Dummer has closed all of our parks including the Back Dam Park, Clintonia Park, Daleview Road Park, Douro North and South Park, Maryvale Park, Millennium Garden, Warsaw Fire Hall Park and the Robert Johnston Eco-Forest Trail. Further, all play structures and play grounds, including swings, sport fields, basketball courts, baseball diamonds, picnic shelters and bleachers are also closed. Fishing is not allowed at Crowe’s Landing and McCracken’s Landing Wharfs at this time.

Ontario’s provincial parks and conservation reserves are closed at this time under the same Provincial Order.

The Ontario Provincial Police, who are the local police service for the Township of Douro-Dummer will be enforcing Provincial directives, including misuse of outdoor amenities and physical distancing requirements. The public can report issues to the following non-emergency numbers:

o Important – 9-1-1 is for emergencies only; reports of non-compliance related to the above are to be reported to the non-emergency numbers, not 9-1-1.

Effective Wednesday, March 24th, the Township Municipal Office will remain closed to the public and will be operating with limited staff. Emails can be sent directly to individual staff members or to info@dourodummer.on.ca. Emails and voicemails will be checked regularly and will be returned in a priority sequence. The Township had also suspended operations at the Hall’s Glen Transfer station effective March 24, 2020. There will not be any public access to this facility until further notice. Residents are encouraged to use curbside collection for curbside waste and recycling collection services, which continue to be offered.
