Economic Development

TractorThe Township of Douro-Dummer is located in the Province of Ontario, approximately an hour and half northeast of the City of Toronto, bordering directly on the easterly boundary of the City of Peterborough.

We are home to many farms, roadside markets, commercial and industrial operations and many tourist-oriented businesses. Being a four-season community, we recognize the potential for growth and are actively pursuing new businesses to locate in our area.

We have access to major highways: Highway 7 to the south and Highway 28 to the north and west, both providing access to Kawartha cottage country.

We currently have some municipal land that is pre-designated and pre-zoned for commercial development along the major transportation corridors, and would welcome the opportunity to discuss these with anyone that may be interested.

High-speed Internet is available to the majority of the Township and is expanding.

The Greater Peterborough Area Economic Development Corporation (GPAEDC) has documented a Community Profile, agriculture statistics and a Tourism Guide in Peterborough County, which includes additional information about the Township of Douro-Dummer.

We invite you to contact us if you're looking to relocate or expand your business, or if you'd like additional information about the area:
